Copier Rental
Renting does have some benefits
Should I rent or should I buy? That’s a question many people ask themselves throughout their lives when faced with a decision on major purchases such as homes, cottages and cars. However, it’s also a valid question when it comes to a photocopier.
Renting a copier from a dependable firm isn’t a bad idea if you only need to use the copier for a certain length of time to do a specific job. This will save you the money of buying a copier that you may only use for a month or two. Renting a copier can also come in handy if you find yourself with a need to copy documents in color for a special job. If your business can get by with a black and white copier for the rest of your work, you may not want to purchase a color copier just for one or two jobs.
Another benefit of renting a copier is the ability to keep your machines up to date. Because technology is improving every day, you often buy a brand new product only to find out that it’s already out of date and has been improved on before you even get a chance to plug it in. You’re then stuck with a good photocopier, but probably wish you could have the newest model. By renting, it’s easy for you to exchange your old copiers for brand new top of the line versions.
However for many companies, one of the most attractive points of renting copiers is the fact that most of the rental agencies will perform all of the routine maintenance and repairs on the machines. You can depend on most companies to provide you with fast emergency repair service and routine equipment maintenance. Most service technicians carry a stock of copier parts with them to repair your equipment on the first visit to your home or office. However, if the copier needs to be taken in to be fixed or if the part necessary to fix the unit isn’t available, it’s common practice for rental companies to replace your equipment with a similar model.
Rental agencies are also good at setting up network copiers in office environments where multiple users have access to a copier from their individual work stations and computers. You should be able to rent all types of copiers including color, and digital models.
You should shop around to see what company will give you the best deal on a rental unit. And don’t forget to check out the fine print regarding maintenance and repair - you’ll find that the contracts and prices will vary from company to company. Most rental companies will make you sign a lease, which could be anywhere from one month to 24 months, and some companies will also offer to sell you the copier when the lease is finished. Most companies will charge you a monthly rental fee, however, some of them will charge you a per copy rate instead.
